Love this campsite, everything you need is here, the owners and staff are happy to help no matter what the issue, chilled out atmosphere and beautiful scenery. Toilet and amenities very clean
My wife and I were traveling with some friends and needed a place to stay where we could have a camp fire. We decided to stay here.The campsite/facilities were very clean and the owners were extremely friendly. I usually dont write reviews, but they went above and beyond to ensure that we were truly satisfied with our stay. My wife went to the ladies toilet/shower to change and dropped her house keys. We drove off to start our 5 hour journey back home. We realized her keys were missing and gave them a call after realizing they were not in the car, The owner said she found them in the ladies room and mailed them back to us. We are extremely thankful!!!
For us it was close to ideal. Informal but good facilities. Roadways around the site were in need of attention as they were dusty in dry windy weather and a bit sludgy when wet. Good walking from the site and interesting towns nearby.
This is our absolute ffavourite campsite ever. We came here for the first time 3 years ago and have been coming back every year since and will continue to do so. We'd come more often for shorter breaks too if we only lived a bit closer.The atmosphere here is unique among the campsites we have visited. The owners are so welcoming and friendly, practically living on site 24 hours a day quietly, always cheerily keeping everything running smoothly, spotlessly clean and tidy, mowing the grass, tending the flowers, stocking up firewood supplies, yet still having time to sit and chat and share a cuppa with the guests. They really do invest everything in making this such a wonderful place and you almost feel you are being welcomed into their home.Despite the size of the site and it's family oriented approach it never feels crowded or noisy compared to some campsites. There seems to be a shared understanding among most campers that this is a special place and everyone does their bit to help keep it that way. The silence that descends over the site after 10.30 at night is incredible - we always sleep so well when we come here.Being tucked away in the Welsh hills means there aren't a huge amount of touristy 'attractions' nearby but that is one of the reasons it's such a special place - you really do feel like you are 'getting away from it all', and the campsite and immediate surroundings are so beautiful you don't really need lots of days out. The kids absolutely love swimming and kayaking in the lake, and there are enough footpaths, walking and mountain biking routes leading off from the site itself into the surrounding hills to suit all ages and energy levels.Would give this place 10 stars if I could!
